Why does Readbird download voices?

Readbird's natural voices are AI models that run on your iPhone, so nothing you read is sent anywhere. They download once (about 540 MB for natural voices, 125 MB for clear voices) and then work offline. Until the download finishes, Readbird reads with a standard Apple voice and switches automatically.

A web page didn't import correctly.

Some sites block readers or require a login. Try opening the page in Safari, selecting the text, and pasting it into Readbird, or use Share › Readbird from Safari.

How do I listen faster than 2×?

Speeds above 2× and the premium voices are part of Readbird Pro.

How do I restore or cancel my subscription?

Tap Settings › Restore Purchases in the app. To cancel, open the Settings app › your name › Subscriptions › Readbird.

Does Readbird keep playing when my phone is locked?

Yes. Use the lock screen or your headphones to pause, skip, or resume.
